When should I come?
If you are in the mood for some cold weather and wearing a down jacket, for skiing and drinking mulled wine, then come to Alpe d'Huez during the winter months. Of course the prices are higher in winter, but you'll have a wonderful skiing experience! In summer, the resort offers you all kinds of local charms: all kinds of outdoor activities, wellness centres, parks, swimming pools... This way, Alpe d'Huez is definitely the best holiday destination throughout the year.

Leave your car in the car park! In Alpe d'Huez, dozens of snow removers clean the ski area to ensure a ski-to-door access for its visitors.
How to get there?
By car : from Grenoble follow the direction of Sisteron - Gap then exit at Vizille. Once in the valley, you will follow - or rather climb - the D211 to discover the village resort of Alpe d'Huez, passing through 21 mythical turns and 1000 metres of vertical drop.
Warning: in winter, snow tyres are recommended.
By train: the closest station to Alpe d'Huez is Grenoble train station. However, it takes 1h14 to travel over the 65km between the city and the resort. Buses and shuttles run on a regular schedule.
By plane: the nearest airport is Grenoble-Isère (105 km). It takes about 1h30 to get there via the A48 highway.
