If you are a thrill-seeker, you should come to Alpe d'Huez in July! The Megavalanche is a mountain bike race that takes the most fearless ones down a 1000 metre vertical drop, starting at 3,300 metres above sea level. This internationally renowned downhill race is a real challenge!

In July, junior golfers have their own event: the 9-hole Compact d'Or is a golf competition for children aged from 7 to 12 years, combining a sports programme with fun and entertainment.

In August, the football is in the spotlight: the football championship takes place in the multi-purpose hall of the Palais des Sports, with no less than thirty participants. Whether you are a football fan, a professional or even a child, there is a competition for everyone!

And at the very end of August, it' s shopping time: the local shopkeepers of Alpe d'Huez display their products at attractive prices during the big flea market.
